Brian Hart Schwartz Scholarship:

Brian Hart Schwartz, who was a member of the class of 2007, said in his college essay, “I pride myself in forming the best possible relationship with every person I encounter.  I have learned that if I sit back and wait for something to happen, like a sailor waiting for the wind, I may be waiting for an eternity.  Instead, I choose to always make it my responsibility to forge ahead and encourage relationships to flourish.”  His words not only speak to the class but also describe his love and understanding of life and friendship.  He committed himself to excellence whether playing sports or getting involved with community.  Brian had an uncanny ability to make people smile; he was the leader of many.  This scholarship will honor Brian’s memory, and the qualities of the recipient will mirror Brian’s sense of leadership; a person who is genuine, light-hearted, altruistic, and quick to smile.
